Right by Jana Aston

Release Date: 04.06.2016

Synopsis:

My childhood was perfect.

I’ve led a charmed life, and I’m not going to blow it now by picking the wrong guy.

I’ve got my sights set on my brother’s best friend.

He’s known my family for years. He’s reliable and kind and handsome.

Sure, he’s been avoiding me since I was six.

I’m a bit aggressive for him, maybe.

But he’s the one… right?

Review:

When I finished Wrong I couldn't wait to read Everly's story but I didn't expect this at all.

I liked this book a little more than the first one because the main characters were hilarious.
Everly with her plans made me laugh so much.

I hope there will be a third book in this series.

Wrong by Jana Aston

Release Date: 10.07.2015

Synopsis:

I have a history of picking the wrong guy. Gay? Player? Momma’s boy? Check, check and check.

Now I can’t stop fantasizing about one of the customers at the coffee shop I work at between classes. It’s just a harmless crush, right? It’s not like I ever see this guy outside of the coffee shop. It’s not like I’m going to see him while attempting to get birth control at the student clinic. While wearing a paper gown. While sitting on an exam table. Because he’s the doctor. Shoot. Me.

But what if, for once, the man I’ve had the dirtiest, most scandalous fantasies about turned out to be everything but wrong?

Review:

I really enjoyed this book. It's a light, funny and quick read without any drama.

You can feel this is a debut novel because the right plot and the good characters are there but they aren't developed too well.

I really hope to read more from this author...maybe Everly needs a book as soon as possible.

That Girl by Leslie DJ

Release Date: 09.20.2016

Synopsis:

Stacey Melendez doesn’t believe in marriage.

It’s 2008 and she’s perfectly content being a single 28-year-old Latina living in Manhattan with her best friend and roommate Lin.

She doesn’t mind dating handsome unreliable men. But when Lin suddenly announces she’s getting married Stacey is forced to reevaluate her love life and living situation.

Stacey must learn to live on her own and find love within herself in order for anyone else to love her in return.

Review:

This was a nice quick read.

My favorite thing of this story is our heroine Stacey, she is not perfect and she definitely has not a perfect life but she navigates through bad dates and unreasonable work errands without throw in the towel and becoming stronger.

Thanks to Leslie DJ writing full of humour this was a very enjoyable experience. I can't wait to read her next work.

Prophet Takes All by Melissa Brown

Release Date: 10.25.2016

Synopsis:

Fools.
So many fools. Nothing but fools.

That worm of a detective, my mother, Paul. Fools—all of them. But Aspen, oh Aspen…she was the biggest fool of all.

Aspen Black, a seemingly ordinary woman of the compound, transformed into the utter bane of my existence in just a matter of months. She had the gall to question me, to seek the counsel of an outsider, and to disobey my word.

To add to her list of transgressions, Aspen recruited my own brother in the crusade against me. For this, they must both be punished. And their daughter, Ruthie, is the key to their retribution.

Aspen and Paul will pay for their crimes against the one true prophet. If it’s the very last thing I do.

Review:

Here we are at the end of this outstanding series...I'm really sad to say goodbye to the compound but I want to say Thank You to Melissa Brown for not rushing the end of this journey and for giving us a unique story and a group of amazing characters that will always have a place in my heart.

Prophet Takes All was less suspenseful, intriguing and soul-wrenching than the previous installments but still a very good story to devour in a few hours to finally find out if the prophet will pay for all his sins and crimes.

Everything She Ever Wanted by Liz Durano

Release Date: 10.18.2016

Synopsis:

I was never into fairy tales.

But discovering a real live princess in my house reminds me of the story of the three bears and some chick who breaks into their pad, eats all their food, and sleeps in their beds.

Just like the one that’s in mine right now.

At first, I thought she was dead, but the rise and fall of her chest told me that she was just passed out, probably from the half-empty bottle of Bordeaux I’d been saving for a special occasion. Two grand down the drain, courtesy of Goldi-effing-locks here, who’s not only passed out cold, but she’s also naked.

I should walk out right now and let her be…

But I can’t. Not when there’s something else next to the Bordeaux, something that shouldn’t be here. And it’s sitting on top of a note that begins with the words…

“I’m sorry I failed you…”

Review:

I've really enjoyed this nice, hot and touching book.

Liz Durano delivered a good story but at times it was too fast and it seems to me that something was missing.I'm so glad that the author is working on an Epilogue,I can't wait to read more about these characters.

I really appreciated that Harlow and Dax perfectly show the strengths and weaknesses of their different age,but they feel safe and truly respected in each other company.

"But I know now that I don't have to fit in anywhere to feel whole.I'm heading home, even though I don't exactly know where home is anymore, not after finding it here at the Pearl...and in Dax's arms."

The story takes place in New Mexico,I have to admit I knew nothing about this state but when I finished this book I was so curious I added Taos to my Dreaming Places to visit.

Excerpt:

“Come here,” Dax murmurs, reaching for my hand and pulling me down to the bed next to him. His gaze travels down my body, and in a moment of uncertainty, I vainly cover myself with my arms.

“Harlow, we don’t have to go through with it if you’re not comfortable.”

"But I am comfortable," I say almost angrily, removing my hands from my breasts before Dax kisses me again. And for the next few minutes, that's all he does—kissing me tenderly and calming the inner turmoil until it simmers down, replaced with the need to have him make love to me. Then he sits up and reaches for his jeans, pulling out a condom packet from his wallet.

The sight of a condom makes me blush even more, only because it’s been a long time since I’ve needed to use one. Jeff and I were trying to get pregnant then, not avoid it.

“You’re gonna need a few of those,” I blurt out before I can stop myself and hide my face against his chest as he lies on his side next to me. “Oh, God, I can’t believe I just said that.”

“Don’t worry, because we will need a few of them before the day is over.” Dax pushes me down on my back as he trails long, lazy kisses down my neck and breasts and my belly. Then he positions himself between my legs, parting my thighs with his hands just as I cover myself from him.

Wait! He's not going down on me, is he?

“Dax, wait…”

He looks up, his gaze questioning. But how can he understand what I cannot say? No one has ever kissed me down there. No one.

"Tell me you don't want me to, Harlow, and I won't."

"It's just that... no one's ever… and I mean, no one…” I can't continue. It sounds so sad. Pathetic. It’s like some undiscovered country, and in many ways it is. Even I haven’t discovered it yet.

Dax’s brow furrows as he moves back up, so we're level on the bed again. Great. Guess I just killed the mood. “What do you mean, no one?"

I cover my face in my hands, but Dax pulls one hand away. I open one eye and see him studying my face. "This is so embarrassing, Dax. But if you want to do it—"

"This isn't all about me or what I want, Harlow. It's about you and what you want. Would you want me to?"

His words surprise me. Not the question, but the other one, the one about this being about me and what I want. Sure, sex with Jeff had started out fun at first, but it almost felt like two nerds going at it, and before long, it became a duty because we wanted to have a baby so bad. And when IVF came along, it was almost non-existent. It didn’t help that he wasn’t exactly big, something I would never be caught dead mentioning to anyone, not even him. Instead, I told myself for years that it was the motion of the ocean that mattered, not the size of the ship.

“Would you want me to, Harlow?” Dax asks again.

He doesn’t always know what to make of a world where movie quotes are the primary means of communication. Before hitchhiking to Vermont, he’d never watched TV or spoken on the phone.

Actually, there are a lot of things he’s never done.

Zach and Lark slowly grow to trust one another. One night they become even closer than they’d planned. But Lark may still be too broken to trust anyone. When she pushes Zach away, he will have to prove to himself that he's good for much more than farm labor.

Review:

This is the End...I really hope not.

I would be so pleased to read more books about the other Shipley family members,I think May story has to be told.

I always appreciate the adroitness and sensitivity with which Sarina Bowen writes all her stories but this time something was missing...I felt like the story could give me more but it was halted to not be too dramatic.

I loved the main characters.
Lark emotional fragility and Zach beautiful heart make them a perfect couple and the reader cannot not love and cheer for them.

Release Date: 10.03.2016

This is a feel good, Christmas novel with very few mince pies, not much snow and absolutely no mistletoe – just a couple of best friends, a sociopathic nemesis and a lot of drinking.

Review:

I really really liked this book.It was funny and at times also emotional.

The fast pace of the story and the flowing words enthralled me and made me a new fan of Rosa Temple writing.

Alex is a nice woman with a wild party animal side that makes her even more adorable and you cannot hate her even if you don't agree with her behaviour.

I liked all the characters and I hope to read more stories about them.

P.S. Charlie is a Saint *sigh*

Review:

Wow I didn't expect to like Confessions Of a Wedding Planner so much.It was so so sweet.

This is a truly good story.
The flowing and descriptive writing, the very well depicted characters picked my interest since the first page and make the story easy to read.
The wedding planning and the dates left a smile on my hopeless romantic face.

This is the first novel that I have read by Michelle Jo Quinn and will not be my last...I can't wait to put my hands on the second book in the series.

The only person she can lean on to tell the truth is her best friend Heath.

Only…did he get hot recently? That won’t make things awkward between them…right?

Review:

This was a nice story.I've read it in one sitting during a lazy Sunday.

I was so curious about Heath,Cliffs & Wandering Hearts because this is the first Young Adult  written by Laura Barnard.

I think the author has neiled the main characters depiction .Savannah and her friends are immature, but their poor choices and over dramatic behaviour is acceptable at their young age.

I would have appreciated a more accurate development of some delicate events that left a bad taste in my mouth.

Review:

Flawless,Enthralling,Irresistible!!!Loved it!

I don't know how to express how perfect was this book without reveal too much ruining your reading experience.

I was afraid that the plot would have been too intricate to follow and enjoy but I was so WRONG because the author made an amazing job.
Everything was perfectly developped, all the characters were well thought and I loved how things turned out in the end.

I can't wait to read Camilla Isley next novel.

Wreck You by Randi Perrin

Release Date: 09.27.2016

Synopsis:

Mechanic for Hard and Fast, Mike Davis has an intense crush on the parts delivery driver, Blake. For the sake of the business, he keeps his distance, not acting on his wanton desires. What Mike doesn’t realize is Blake is crushing equally as hard on him.

Just as love and life appear to take shape for Mike, his old demons take hold and drag him under, leaving him spiraling out of control.

Will Blake push Mike further into the abyss or will he be the one to finally pull him free?

Review:

This was a nice quick read.
Mike and Blake's story was so good I really hoped to read more about them.

The main characters are both fragile, lost and they think they are not good enough. Fortunately in the end they find the courage to accept themselves how they are and they finally give a chance to their feelings for each other.

"Blake,if you want something to happen, you damn sure better make a statement and make it loud."

Excerpt:

His shaggy, sandy-blond hair covered his eyes, and a deep tan highlighted his sharp cheekbones. He had a baby face; hell, compared to me he was a baby. Still, that silky-smooth face called out to be kissed without mercy.
I wanted to be the one to do just that.
He pushed the hair out of his eyes. The chocolate-brown pools that hid underneath were visible for a brief moment before gravity won the battle, and his hair fell right back to where it had started.
His constant battle with his hair was one of those things I had always adored about him. Every time he ran his hands through his hair, I couldn’t help the twinge of jealousy I felt.
I wanted to be the one to unearth those eyes that matched the shade of my morning coffee.I was pretty sure Blake didn’t know anything about my feelings for him, and that was for the best. For the sake of both our jobs, I kept my emotions in check, burying those feelings as deep as I possibly could. The last thing I wanted to do was have my way with him and then have things go south. They always went south for me—and then I’d be stuck having awkward encounters with him every day, or even worse, he’d leave, and I’d have to get used to a new delivery driver.
Neither situation was appealing, so I did what I had to do to maintain the status quo. I even kept my thoughts about him secret from my best friend, Lydia, the manager of Parts and More.
I already knew my obsession with her employee was taboo; I didn’t need to give her the chance to mock me for it, too.

Hail Mary by Julianna Marley

Release Date: 10.10.2016

Synopsis:

He’s football’s poster boy with one thing on his mind. Well, perhaps two things, but Shay Cunningham’s outstanding football career and contract negotiations take precedent over everything else. Even women. Living life to the extreme, Shay’s past indiscretions continue to fuel his lifestyle. And that’s just how he likes it.

Whitney Scott is broke, anxious and afraid. After an unexpected break up with her newborn baby’s father, her life is a mess. Down on her luck, she’s working hard to solidify her-and her baby’s-future. One uncertain step at a time.

When an emergency thrusts Shay and Whitney together will one heavy dose of uncertainty push them apart? Or will they be willing to make a Hail Mary pass with their hearts-trusting that the other one will catch it?

Review:

I enjoyed this story very much.
It was a prefect Sunday read on the couch with some real football on TV in the background.

Whitney is a kind and insecure woman who tries to be strong and independent at all cost, Shay is a sweet and caring man even if he always appears detached, their story is lovely.
These characters will grow on you page after page like a new born will grip your heart day after day with her gummy smile.

Julianna Marley wrote a nice and well paced story.
I'm looking forward to the next book in the series...I'm so curious after I've read that little snippet at the end.

Pucked Under by Helena Hunting

Release Date: 10.10.2016

Synopsis:

Randy Ballistic and Lily LeBlanc are head-over-heels, bed-breakingly, screaming orgasmically in love. But even they have their challenges, mostly outside of the bedroom.

With the off-season coming to a close and the boys gearing up for training camp, one more weekend of fun is the perfect way to welcome the new season.

The entire crew piles into vehicles and drives to Alex and Violet’s Chicago cottage for a few days of relaxation―and hopefully a chance for Randy to shake the anxiety that’s been plaguing him.

Accidental wardrobe malfunctions, typical Violet inspired overshares, and a whole lot of private time round out the perfect weekend getaway.

But the moment they return to the city all of Randy’s angst resurfaces with the arrival of a surprise houseguest.

Review:

I want to say Thank You to Helena Hunting who gives us always a good book independently of its length.

I've really appreciated how we can see also in this story Randy multiple facets.
As we have already found out in Pucked Over there's a lot more to know about Randy than his beautiful look and his sex escapades.
Lily is always so sweet but a very good partner under the covers and not for our Hero.

Don't worry there are a lot of funny moments thanks to all the Pucked gang.
Give me the next book soon...I need it!!!
